The Speculation series began in 2016 and is ongoing. The title Speculation encompasses both facture and reception: it is intended in the sense of speculation as risk, and as conjecture or contemplation. It is also a nod to the Latin root specere, to look. Rather than offering the mirror’s direct reflection or the portrait's representation, however, they invite an experience of expanded reflection.
